Description
A temperature gauge (bimetallic thermometer) is used for the direct measurement of temperature. The sensing element is a fast-acting bimetallic coil. It consists of two metal strips with different thermal expansion coefficients that are cold-welded together and twist in response to temperature changes. This rotational movement is transmitted to the indicator needle with minimal friction.
